LITTLE FARMERS and FARM EXPLORERS
ANIMAL DISCOVERY CLASSES
A special hands-on opportunity for your child to experience farm life. Children actively participate in animal care and feeding, barn chores, pony rides, baking and gardening throughout the school year. Curriculum is integrated with seasonal themes, art and crafts, stories, games and pony rides. Activities vary between sessions. Children ages 2 to 3 participate with an adult partner - this class meets Mondays or Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11:30 pm. Our Farm Explorers class is designed for the more independent 3 to 6 year old who is potty trained. We meet on Thursdays or Fridays from 10 to 12:30 pm. Our next session begins in September and will continue throughout the school year. Classes do vary between sessions. September registration is currently available. To register call the Bellevue Parks Dept at 425-452-6885 or please see www.myparksandrecreation.com or www.bellevuewa.gov. Costs vary between sessions.
FARM BIRTHDAY PARTIES
One of our most popular activities, farm parties let your guests experience the farm up close and personal. Meet our pony, sheep, rabbits, goats, chickens and pig for 45 minutes, petting and interacting with our animals and visit our historic barn. Children then move inside to create a project crafted from our sheep's wool. Children card wool-makes the wool fluffy - and each child creates a wooly sheep to take home. After the one hour tour and craft time, families gather in the Farm Room for cake, presents and more birthday fun for the second hour. The Farm Room is a wonderful heated classroom space with a small kitchen, three large preschool-sized tables/chairs, plus a small carpeted area.

at Kelsey Creek Farm
Our scenic park, situated near downtown Bellevue, boasts two large white dairy barns built in the 1930's, white-railed fencing and beautiful lawns and playfields. Our farm is home to ponies, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits and waterfowl. Animals are available for viewing every day of the year from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Our playground, picnic tables and picnic shelter are open every day from dawn to dusk. To meet and pet our animals, schedule a
tour for your group, or visit us in
farm classes designed for preschoolers through age 6.
Birthday parties continue to be a year-round favorite with families who travel from Seattle, Tacoma, Snoqualmie and Everett to share the farm with their family and friends.
Year round tour programs vary by seasons; Spring is always popular- our baby animals are sure to delight both the young and old. Group participants also plant pumpkin seeds in our large farm garden. Summer months find groups petting the animals, learning to card wool and crafting a wooly sheep to take home. For our October tour, children work in the barn with child-sized rakes, buckets and brooms, and includes a trip to our indoor, mud-free pumpkin patch. A tour in November finds us at our log cabin, learning about life in 1888 as we grind wheat, churn butter, play dress-up plus other authentic activities.
